‘Carnival’ is the new track from rising Bristol quintet Saloon Dion. The band have refined a memorable post-brit-pop sound that combines those nostalgic, warm 90s textures and huge hooks, with modern influences and intricacies. This one in particular is driven by a huge main riff, underpinned by bass that provides a subtle dissonance, quiet bongos that add to the groove, and a few unexpected twists that keep things feeling slightly off-kilter. The new EP from Saloon Dion, Where You’ll Find Me, drops on August 14th, 2024. Lyrically, they explain that the release draws on “themes of unrequited love, fear of commitment, growing old, growing up too fast, loneliness, arrogance, ignorance, self-reflection and self-destruction, but ultimately culminates with an overriding theme of moving on, and being better for it.” -Dan Peeke
